Audrey's art captures the nuanced dynamics of human connections, presenting a visually compelling and emotionally resonant perspective on the unfolding stories she observes.
Audrey is a finger-painting artist from St. Petersburg, Florida. Beginning her journey in finger-painting in March of 2020, she found herself desperate to express her emotions in trying times, but unable to do so using the same realism techniques she’d mastered with a brush. She began throwing paint onto the canvas with her hands in an attempt to physically and creatively release her energy, and consequently discovered a new world of expression and connecting to her work like she’d never experienced before.
Over the years as Audrey’s mastered her technique in this unique style of art, her work has expanded to become more of a story-telling process than mere aesthetics. Pulling from her background in sociology, she tells stories of her own personal journey, patterns she sees in society, and the innermost dynamics of intimate relationships between people and the aspects of our journeys that push and pull us between connecting and disconnecting, loving and hating, relating and rejecting. Audrey finds herself constantly fascinated by the world around her and her work is simply the visual representation of the story she sees unfolding before her.
All of her work is created completely by hand using acrylic paint, often embellished with 24k gold and UV resistant epoxy resin. For more, follow her on Instagram at @AudreyJenniferArt

Audrey's first finger-painting. This was a happy (or not so happy depending on how you look at it) accident made from pure emotion. Audrey was feeling a lot of big emotions during Day 5 of lockdown and in an attempt to get them out she started throwing paint (literally) at the canvas. With each step she accomplished with her hands, she wanted to try working through the next one with her hands as well. Before she knew it, the piece was done and she'd never felt more euphoric. So, she kept doing it...

Time Machine was recently created to depict Audrey’s weird relationship with time right now. Love/hate, push/pull, contentment/discomfort… it’s all there. In any case, it’s precious.

They say stars shine brightest in the dark. But no one ever talks about how flowers need darkness to grow. In fact, most of them grow faster at night. We all need the darkness in order to grow & shine. This color blue represents peace, and wouldn’t that be lovely to see more of?

A new rendition of the original Butterflyhead concept painted in 2022 (sold) depicting the inner world of living with ADHD. You spend your life feeling like an airhead, like you live in the clouds, like you belong in space… and it feels heavy, because you believe you’re meant to live on the ground and you can’t understand why your legs don’t move like everyone else’s do. And then you realize you’re a butterfly and you were made to fly, and it all makes sense. And it’s beautiful.

Depicting the struggle of being stuck I the mind & feeling lost… forgetting that you need your heart, too, to guide you. If she’d release the butterfly (the heart), it’s wings could take it high enough to see the parts of the maze (the subconscious mind) she just can’t see on her own.
More specifically, this painting is a representation of alexithymia- a condition in which a person cannot feel or identify the emotions of themselves or others. Often confused with narcissism because it is so little known or understood, it is more of an autistic trait, with about 50-85% of autistic people also having alexithymia, and over 10% of the general population living with it. The majority of those people are men. It can be triggered by a trauma or seem to be a lifelong experience and it can make intimate relationships very difficult and confusing. Audrey hopes that by bringing awareness to it we can learn to understand one another better and better communicate & relate.

We get to live as blissfully free & unaware of the darkest parts of our world because of the men & women that willingly step into that darkness for us. These heroes carry the weight of the heaviest parts of our world on their backs and in their minds so we can continue to live blissfully unaware of just how heavy it gets. Thank you veterans for your service and all that you do. You are loved, you are respected, you are appreciated.

It’s painful to be torn open… but what’s inside at the very core is the most beautiful thing. We are all made of stardust. In the purest form of ourselves, we are all the same and we are all connected.

A part of Audrey's "Human" series- a series showcasing the most raw of the human form. Anthony Bourdain lived a life many could only dream about, and yet he was very open about the fact that it still felt empty.
