Geoffrey Baris has been a renowned, international, fine art and fashion photographer for over 35 years. Throughout his career, he photographed for most of the major retailers, created album covers, magazines, and taken portraits of many celebrities. His fine art photographs have been in art shows and represented by galleries all over the US. His work has been purchased by most major hotels, Art Consultants, Interior Designers and loved and collected by people wanting art that is unique and special.
I use the camera to see another view of the real world, to explore hidden images that emerge from nature. The true essence of photography lies beyond pure sight; it goes deeper into the soul, past everything known as color and form. He likes to think that his photographs are all real images of nature seen from this deeper place within himself. Here is able to find his connection to his soul.

This is one of my swirled series where I take a photograph that I like the colors and I put that image into Photoshop and swirl the image around. When it starts to look like something I make it look more like something. It is a photograph adhered to a piece of plexiglass. It has a metal frame on the back which floats it off the wall.

I photographed this skiff on an early morning in Sausalito, California. It was sunrise and the water was very calm reflecting the white bright sky. I call it Forgotten because this boat looked like someone anchored it up and had forgotten it was there. You can see the sunrise colors showing through it's weathered hull and the single seagull enjoying it's quiet perch.

San Marco Square, Venice, Italy On an early cold foggy November morning I was out at dawn to take pictures. I walked over to San Marco Square which on most days has 10 thousand People and 100 thousand pigeons. On this morning it was empty and barely light. I put my camera on the ground to steady it and started snapping pictures when this stranger came walking out of the fog right on cue. I call this one One as one person, one light and one Basilica.

Photographed in the Florida Everglades on an overcast day where the sky was solidly white. This picture is of reeds and their reflections. The water was reflecting the sky so it's white. The reeds are the solid lines and the broken lines are their reflections. I call it Pickup Sticks as it reminds me of a game called that we played as kids.

When it starts to look like something I make it look more like something. It's an abstract so that means everyone see's something different. I see an Angel touching a man's heart...

This was from a series where I bought a bunch of flowers and with the assistance of my granddaughter we photographed them. At the time she was about 10 years old, part fish and you could never get her out of the pool. We spent the day with her holding the flowers and silk scarfs underwater in the hot tub while I photographed them from above. I love the way the bubbles in the right hand corner also form a flower.

Painting/Photography
This was a collaboration between artist and painter Julie Haura. I took her painting and swirled it around in Photoshop to make it look like a cave or wave. The combination of our art make for a very beautiful mermaid like image.

This sign used to be on the corner of 16th and Central Ave. It was one of the old icon's of St Pete. It was torn down about 6 years ago to make room for a block of condominiums.
